LEWIS A .360 EXPRESS (ROOK) SINGLE-BARRELLED LEVER-COCKING HAMMERLESS ROOK & RABBIT RIFLE, serial no. 9452, circa 1910, 26in. black powder only octagonal barrel with matted sight flat, the adjacent flats engraved ' G.E. LEWIS. 32 & 33 LOWER LOVEDAY ST. BIRMINGHAM. 9452.', and '.360 EXPRESS CARTRIDGE.', dove-tailed bead fore-sight, standing notch rear sight with two folding leaves, marked for 100, 200 and 300 yards and with white-metal inlaid sight lines, lever-cocking hammerless action with cared teardrop fences, manual side safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail (at fault), border and partial acanthus scroll engraving, bright finish, 14 1/4in. figured pistolgrip stock (cracked through and repaired at hand) with steel pistolgrip cap, including buttplate, Hackett-type snap-on splinter fore-end with horn finial (some losses to left-side leading edge), sling eyes, weight 5lb. 8oz.
